Heather and Matthias Tully

Heather Tully:

Heather Tully is a mama of 10, ages 21-4. She daily needs her Savior Jesus for strength & grace! Heather enjoys learning alongside her children as they seek to implement Charlotte Mason philosophies in their home. You’ll usually find her with a camera in her hand documenting life. It’s messy, loud and busy, but full of wonder if we only look! When she’s not capturing wonder with her camera, she’s probably holding a book or yummy drink… or folding laundry. You can find her on Instagram at heathertullyphotography.

Matthias Tully:

Matthias is 17 (number 3 in the family), getting ready to begin his senior year. He makes awesome gluten free pizza, from scratch! Matthias enjoys reading books, chess, writing stories, and football.

Lynn Bruce and Caitlin Bruce Beauchamp

Lynn Bruce:

Lynn Bruce serves on the AmblesideOnline Advisory board, where for 20 years she has steadily cultivated a vision to make a Charlotte Mason education possible for children around the globe. She is still reaping the blessings of 25 years of learning alongside her three children, all now grown. Lynn holds a BS in Education from Texas Tech University and taught in public schools for a time prior to homeschooling. She began studying Charlotte Mason’s writings in 1995. Lynn finds deep joy in her three magnificent grandchildren, old hymns, small churches, big dinner tables, and loving on folks with cobbler and conversation. She and her husband Dan are delighted that all their descendants live in Texas.

Caitlin Bruce Beauchamp:

Caitlin Bruce Beauchamp is a mother, writer, and pastor’s wife. Caitlin, her husband, and their three small children recently moved from the big city to a farm in rural Texas, a demanding but delightful learning curve. Caitlin was one of the earliest graduates of AmblesideOnline and then earned a BA and MA in the Humanities with an emphasis in creative writing from the University of Texas at Dallas. She and her oldest child have now embarked on the adventure of AmblesideOnline Year One.

Kerri, Davis, and Sarah Lunsford

Kerri Lunsford:

Kerri Lunsford has homeschooled for over 25 years. Homeschooling her children has been one of the greatest blessings of her life. She is the mother of four, ages 30-16. Davis, Peyton, and Sarah have graduated from Baylor, and Kate will be a junior in high school. She is also the grandmother to two granddaughters with one more on the way. If she had to classify herself it would be as a Charlotte Mason/classical wannabe. One of her greatest home school successes is that all her children love to learn. She loves to read and participates in several book clubs. Her personal accomplishments include beating her son in the Lunsford Family Reading Competition.

Sarah Lunsford:

Sarah was homeschooled through 12th grade and then went to Baylor University where she received her bachelors degree in Great Texts. She has been teaching at a classical school the past three years, but is now a soon-to-be stay at home mom! She lives with her husband, Colt, in Waco, Texas and they will welcome their first child, Ella Beth, in October. Sarah is grateful for the life and education she’s been given through the efforts and hard work of educational pioneers—especially her mom!—and is eager and humbled to pass that inheritance on. One of Sarah’s greatest disappointments in life is losing to her mom and brother in the Lunsford Family Reading Competition.

Davis Lunsford:
Davis’ education – at a formal level – includes home education through high school, a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Baylor University, and a soon-to-be-completed MBA in Entrepreneurship from Acton School of Business. Outside of formal education, Davis has a fascination with learning, and specifically with how different disciplines interact and inform each other – disciplines as diverse as art, data science, design, reading, camping, teaching, boatbuilding, philosophy, economics, and music. Davis’ personal accomplishments include beating his sister in the Lunsford Family Reading Competition.

Angelina Stanford

Angelina Stanford has an Honors Baccalaureate Degree and a Master’s Degree in English Literature from the University of Louisiana, graduating Phi Kappa Phi. For over twenty-five years, she has shared her passion and enthusiasm for literature with students in a variety of settings—everywhere from university classrooms to homeschool co-ops to homeschooling her own three children.  In 2012, she entered the world of online teaching, creating a unique online community and mentor relationship with her students. And in 2020 she founded with her husband, Thomas Banks, the House of Humane Letters, providing classes, conferences and other resources for a more humane education.  Angelina maintains a high commitment to teaching teachers and students the skill and art of reading well–and in recapturing the tradition of literary scholarship needed to fully engage with the Great Books.

A popular guest on a variety of podcasts, Angelina launched her own podcast, The Literary Life Podcast, with her husband Thomas Banks, and her long-time friend Cindy Rollins in 2019.  Flagged by Itunes as a New and Noteworthy Podcast, each episode explores some aspect of cultivating a literary life–from slow, thoughtful readings of novels and short stories to literary topics like the importance of the detective novel or getting over a reading slump. She is a great believer that Stories Will Save the World!

Thomas Banks

Thomas Banks has taught great books with an emphasis on Greek and Roman literature, Latin grammar and ancient history for more than ten years both as a private tutor and as a junior high and high school teacher in his native Idaho and Montana. He holds dual bachelor’s degrees in English Literature and Classical Studies from the University of Idaho, from which he graduated in 2008. In the summer of 2019, he moved to North Carolina to marry the illustrious Ms. Angelina Stanford, who said yes for some reason.

Poetry is a particular love of his, and he has published original verse and translations in The Imaginative Conservative, First Things, the St. Austin Review and various other periodicals. His personal list of favorite writers never really stops growing, but will always include Homer, Euripides, Virgil, Ovid, St. Augustine, Shakespeare, Samuel Johnson, Byron, Keats, Walter Scott and Thomas Hardy. Of these and so many others one cannot have enough.
